Steel
Steel production creates the ideal environment for Deloro Stellite alloys. The high temperatures and multitude of moving parts in Steel plants, means high potential for premature wear on critical components. Stellite® can look expensive due to its high Cobalt content, however it has been proven to perform much better in many steel applications compared to other Fe, Ni or Mn based alloys. The benefits of longer lasting components far outweigh the initial costs for the alloy.
Hardfacing alloy products are commonly used to hardface hot shear knives, continuous cast/pilger rolls, tap hole drill bits etc. however Stellite® can be used in any application where components experience a combination of Heat, Wear or Corrosion.
Common alloys used in the Steel Industry are Stellite® 6 & Stellite® 21. These are mostly sold in MIG wire or Electrode form to aid with on-site repair work. |
