A variety of degradation problems exist in aircraft engines as a result of metal to metal wear, fretting, hot corrosion, particle erosion plus others. This degradation is accelerated due to the high temperature conditions involved.
Deloro Stellite, Hardfacing Alloys division can supply a range of alloys which can be applied in order to increase the life of certain engine components. Examples of these are Compressor Blade Interlocks (Dovetails), Fan Blade Mid Span Supports, Air Seals, Seal Rings & Expansion points.
In the past Tungsten Carbide-Cobalt alloys were used but more recently our alloys have become more popular due to increased wear resistance.
Typical Deloro Stellite alloys seen in the Aerospace industry are Tribaloy® 400, Tribaloy® 800, Stellite® 694 & Stellite® 31.
These alloys are commonly supplied in Powder form or fine TIG Rod form. |
